Veiled in flesh the Godhead see
Hail the incarnate Deity
Pleased as man with man to dwell
Jesus, our Emmanuel

So today we finished the packing process for three weeks back in Saskatoon, including the usual plus my fish in a temporary home, gifts from Paul's sister and brother-in-law that they didn't have to mail on account of our voyage, and all my photo equipment minus my computer since I'm not going to be doing any editing work or prep for the big trade show in January until I get back, but I do have several shoots planned. The most notable of which is my best friend's wedding in a few days.

The car ride home was filled with music, lively conversation, and Paul reading books to me. We laughed, we enjoyed singing carols together, and despite me feeling a bit sickly today. I had a really spiritual Christmas moment in the car, too. Christmas is a great time to get to know God as Jesus, the incarnate who was with us and is with us.

I'm excited about getting to see friends and enjoying the holidays. I'm especially excited about my Grandma's party on Sunday - it's been a long time since she hosted a party and I'm really looking forward to enjoying her remarkable hospitality. There's also actually five different parties going on this weekend, and I hope to crash most of them at some point or another at least briefly. It promises to be a great time of fellowship and love and Christmas cheer...

And so this Christmas I'll compare
The things I've felt in prior years
To what this midnight made so clear
That You have come to meet me here
