Show Setup Day #1 of 2

You're everything that's fair
In love and war

This morning worship practice was a gongshow. All we were missing was the gong. Here's hoping tomorrow's practice goes better. I'm regretting being a part of the team this weekend. I mean, I love singing harmony but I am running myself ragged even without jamming worship in there. *sigh*

I spent the rest of the day entangled in exhausting art show prep. Came home from practice, dragged stuff out of the family SUV and prepped it for transport. Went with my Aunt to Canadian tire, where she bought me my very own drill/electric screwdriver and a bit set (both of which I love) and I demonstrated the self-checkouts.

Then we made paper corners for my cabinet and stand and saran-wrapped them. Then Drew came along and we carried heavy and awkward stuff downstairs and packed it in the truck, then unpacked it after carrying it up stairs. Then I proceeded through a blur of instructions and random work. I glued in felt with crazy glue and cleaned all my plexiglass boxes inside and out. I spot-touched stand paint, I optioned a spot for my vinyl lettering, I tried ironing my curtain but it still looks pretty wrinkly, sadly enough. With Jadon's help I screwed the cabinet to the stand. I did key stuff. I eventually got some food, but it was torturous because my gut was not friendly today. I did a whole lot of random stuff too, sorted keys out and whatnot.

Bussed home - hadn't been on a bus for months.

Too tired now to do anything but type and too wired to sleep. Therefore working on the paper stuff for the show and:

Top ten songs of the last two weeks as a lyrics quiz! Lurkers, feel free to make anonymous guesses, I'm not FBing this one.

Love Song for an Art Show in Ten Triplets:

There's a song that's inside of my soul
It's the one that I've tried to write
over and over again

No need to hide
Anything, anymore
Can't return to who I was before

In a fog you are all I see
I'm inviting you closer with each time I breathe
Surrender has somehow become so beautiful

I think I figured it out
We need to be together
Like the shore and the sea

My watch is always set to your time
My shoes are always ready and tied
My heart points north, longing

Tuned in,
turned on,
remembered the things that you said

And from the ballroom floor
We are in celebration
One good stretch before our hibernation

So meet me and we'll drive this car away
we can leave right now what do you say
we'll head out for the wide and open spaces

And I want to wake up with the rain
Falling on a tin roof
While I'm safe there in your arms

Your skin, oh yeah
Your skin and bones
Turn into something beautiful
