Tonight I sang for the Kick-Off Sunday at church, and then there was a lovely BBQ. It was much lovelier than many other barbecues I have been to by virtue of the large selection of garlic dill pickles. My Aunt figured that my prior odd cravings (pickles/vinegar/lemons etc.) would cease with the removal of the gallbladder, but it has only diminished them a little, probably because my health is better.
I looked up the amount of calories I am able to lose per 7 hour shift at work - somwhere around 2,600 or more. I'd say this means that losing weight won't be much of an issue for me in the near future, since I am rarely interested in overeating lately. Tomorrow I work, fortunately not too early in the morning. Then I'll be working Friday-Saturday, if I can manage to convince them that I have no Sunday availability until the third week of September. Which my poor boss won't be too happy about seeing as staff is hard to come by these days.
Amazingly, I actually did some homework yesterday, and I have plans to do more tonight. I am obviously a crazy person.
Also, I finished reading Stardust, and though it was a good book, I don't know what all the fuss is about Neil Gaiman. It was merely a good book, not a great one. Not really all that outstanding at all. Especially not when compared to, say, The Hobbit, or The Thief, or Lemony Snicket's books. I am sure the movie will be lovely, so hopefully I can get a chance to see it when it comes to Rainbow Theatre.
I saw Doom with Amy and her friend Derek last night, first off we went to Future Shop, where I picked up the Firefly season, which I would have done eventually, but it hadn't been at the surface of my mind lately, and it was on for cheap. Then we went to Wal-Mart for candy. And Twizzlers. Can't forget the Twizzlers. Then we went a long way for Tim Hortons and got Timbits, and a large iced cap for me. Amy lent Serenity to me, and I watched it today. It was wonderful, exactly the level of awesome I expected from the cast of Firefly. Sad bits notwithstanding. =(
Thursday I have a coffee appointment with my friend Mary, who has, through the misfortunes of life, been nearly cut off from me all summer.
Speaking of summer, it's definitely Fall now. The leaves on the trees are yellowing, it was a perfectly nice day today until it hit evening and the temperature plummetted, leaving a dozen girls at church scrambling for their sweaters. At the moment, Fall is my favourite season. It's possible that it's my favourite season overall, aside from the temperatures dropping. I have my favourite parts about all of the seasons, though, and I do not really want to admit a favourite anymore. I am in love with all of them. More when I can actually come in contact with them via the outdoors, which isn't going to happen nearly as much now. I am looking forward to taking a walk on Tuesday for my Photography assignment.
