We never get to stop and open our eyes
One minute you're waiting for the sky to fall
The next you're dazzled by the beauty of it all...
So remember my post yesterday about going somewhere, doing something else? Yeah. I've thought about it before, but never looked up Art schools that have the degree I acutally want in the area I actually want to get into. Today I looked up Medicine Hat, which I have been assured is lauded as an excellent program in Applied Visual Communications. They do the stuff I want to do.
I wish they had an online list of transferrable classes. But at any rate, I figure I'll apply for a spot in Fall, since it's only going to cost me about $60 to do that and my Mom says I can ask for the acceptance to be pushed back a year. Or half a year, maybe. Depends what other transferrable classes I can get from the U of S. Because, I have to face it someday, I really want to do this degree, and they don't offer it here. Or very many other places in Canada for that matter. And Medicine Hat is a whole lot cheaper than Toronto or some nonsense.
I checked up on the rent, it's between $475 and $600 a month for privacy and half that for roommates. If I even had a couple of roommates in some of those places it would be very easy to stay for $500 a month including rent and food and utilities and the internet... Realistically? It wouldn't be too bad at all, especially if the family could help me out a little and student loans could help me out a lot and I saved over a summer.
So that's pretty much all that's up with me today.
Oh! And I'm slowing figuring out the bus system. And it's been exactly a month since I got my ears pierced, now. I'm going to wait another week or so before I start wearing earrings. And one of the earring pairs we ordered off Ebay came in a small, zippered orange and yellow pouch that's really nice and is definitely going to be my vacation earring transportation. I wonder if we bought more from that seller? If I had more I might be able to take a few of them with me for general earrings and necklaces and stuff. I mean, I'm going to Edmonton with a bunch of girls to go shopping, right? I have to dress up!
Also, there was a particularly good character questions meme back in the day (April) and only one person commented on it. It's here, go.
That's about all I have to say today, except that I might be going to a games night after work. And either way I'm definitely getting some supper that's decently endowed with meat. I wish it was Pasta Thursday instead of Tuesday at Boston Pizza. Mmm. Food.
